The debate over Chinese-made bicycles is complex, with divided opinions on quality and reliability. During my visit to Hall 9 at a recent bike expo, I gained valuable insights into the manufacturing process, particularly through a conversation with Lightcarbon. Their transparency about quality control and manufacturing standards highlighted the value that Chinese frames can offer when paired with rigorous oversight. This experience reinforced the importance of understanding the manufacturing process, emphasizing that informed choices lead to better cycling investments.
A cyclist sent in this Madison Genesis Le Croix titanium bike frame in for a bottom bracket fix. This bike had been through bottom brackets at an alarming rate and the non drive side was visibly damaged. Some further checks were carried out and some issues around stress relief were highlighted. Eventually fixed.
One of my viewers contacted me about an issue he was having with the installation of a set of NTN bearings. He purchased what he believed to be Loctite 641 from an online supplier, this was promptly delivered with a label indicating it to be “high strength”. This is incorrect as high strength Loctite is…

Zero Friction Cycling, run by former policeman Adam Kerin, presents itself as a trusted source for friction-reducing products, but behind the scenes, a lack of engineering knowledge and unverified testing methods raise red flags. Despite requesting sensitive industry data without doing foundational research, Kerin’s approach appears more focused on marketing high-margin products than adhering to rigorous engineering standards. His testing setup is flawed, and the data he presents, particularly in support of ceramic bearings and chain lubricants, lacks scientific backing. Is this the work of an expert or just another slick sales pitch?
9Velo is a relatively new company, but the individuals behind it have been in the carbon fibre wheel industry for a considerable length of time. These gravel wheels have some of the highest levels of manufacturing quality that I have ever seen. The hubs are probably the best ones you can buy; they make DT Swiss units look like rough copies in comparison.

Awesome, KUDOS! I have one question. I have Caad 12 Disc version, so is there enough space for hydraulic tube for rear disc brake?
KUDOS again!
The centre section of this BB is the same size as a 30mm crank so it has the same amount of clearance. If your hydraulic lines fit in that envelope then this BB should work.
Did you manage to get this to work with hydraulics? Having a few issues here.
