Description
This bottom bracket is designed to interface a Shimano 24mm Hollowtech 2 Crankset (Sora, Tiagra, 105, Ultegra, Dura Ace) and Shimano Compatible (Some ROTOR and FSA) 24mm Cranksets with a bike frame that uses a BB30A Bottom Bracket (42mm Nominal Inside Diameter x 73mm wide). This type of Bottom Bracket is almost exclusively used on Cannondale bikes (CAAD and Synapse). The center section of this bottom bracket is extremely narrow to allow it to miss the cable guide on CAAD bikes.

Precision Engineered and Manufactured in the United Kingdom
Hambini Bottom Brackets are amongst the lowest friction bottom brackets in the world. They are used by recreational cyclists, road racers, triathletes and time trialists from around the globe. They are of proven design and are manufactured in the United Kingdom. These units are of a one piece construction which makes them inherently resistant to creak, they will maintain perfect bearing alignment and function under loads in excess of 4000W.
Hassle-Free Maintenance
All Hambini bottom brackets can be installed and removed with a conventional bearing press, they use a controlled method of installation using the recommended fitting adaptors, they require no hammers or specialized tooling for removal. Additionally, the wearing component – the bearings – can be serviced in situ or removed within just a few minutes. The bottom bracket has been designed to be fully rebuildable.
Unrivalled Performance
Unloaded bearing spin tests are a poor measure of frictional performance but they do highlight good bearing alignment. The link below is to a video of a Hambini Racing Bottom Bracket that had completed 10,000km
Class Leading Parasitic Drag Loss (Friction)
The graph below shows how Hambini bottom brackets perform in comparison to the bottom brackets of other manufacturers. The test conditions model real world cycling and more importantly mimics realistic frame tolerances. All of these tests have been conducted with an eccentricity of 0.1mm which is generally the maximum permitted in frame specifications – the reality is tolerances have been known to be much worse than this. Misalignment is more critical to friction than the type of bearing ball material, a slight misalignment can easily outweigh the difference between a top of the range NTN bearing and a mediocre ebay no name bearing. The results show that bottom brackets which have an element of structural linkage between the drive and non-drive sides (one piece/threaded etc) perform much better than those which are multi piece.
The high torque and low RPM of pedaling causes high Hertzian contact stresses on bearing surfaces which cause friction levels to change over time. Those bottom brackets which have used ceramic bearings, start off with fairly low levels of friction but over time their friction increases dramatically. The super hard ceramic balls grind a track into the comparatively soft bearing races causing friction to increase. This would be analogous to trying to drive a locomotive train on a road, the wheels would cut grooves into the road surface due to the huge difference in surface hardness.
Bottom Bracket Stiffness
A Hambini BB is a one piece bottom bracket. It actively contributes to the stiffness of the bike’s pedaling platform. Threaded and multi piece bottom brackets have an element of play in their design so they do not contribute anywhere near a comparative level of stiffness. Reviewers of Hambini BB’s often comment on their feeling of improved stiffness, this is due to them being one piece and undergoing a proprietary heat treatment process. This makes them stronger and stiffer. This is a difference the end user cannot see – but they can feel.

Q & A
It will fit BB30A, you need to check that you don't have any obsrtructions
You can do that but it would need to be an external adaptor - I don't make them but I think wheels mfg do.
It varies, a lot of the stock is updated weekly.

There are loads of BB’s you can buy to fit Shimano cranks in a CAAD12 frame with internal cable routing. But this is the only BB on the market in the world which is one-piece (to preserve alignment and stiffness) and doesn’t have a hole hacked in the side with a Dremel. Luckily, Hambini’s BB is perfect in every way and fitting it to the bike was the work of 5 minutes. My version was custom machined with a narrower diameter in the centre section to accommodate the internal cable routing in the CAAD12 BB shell – a proper engineering solution to all my problems. Out on the road it’s noticeably stiffer, and it’s completely silent. Would thoroughly advise buying a cr*p BB30 bike just so you can have the pleasure of fitting one of these things.

Perfect! The communication was great, manufacturing (custom fabrication for a CAAD12) and delivery of the bottom bracket was fast. The BB itself even a layman can see that the manufacturing quality is on an extremely high level. It is now installed and doing its job without any problems, much better (and quieter) than the Cannondale BB30A nonsense that was previously in my CAAD12.

Very satisfied with my purchase.
Communication was exceptional. Delivery very fast and install was a breeze.
I will definitely purchase one again when I get a new bike.

Put one of these in a CAAD12 to get rid of creaking once and for all. Lovely bit of machining, it’s a pity to hide it away. Not cheap but you get a top quality product and great service from Hambini. ?

Quality bit of engineering, Not cheap but you won’t find better. Excellent communications and service from Hambini.

Fitting the Hambini Racing BB to my Caad12 has been without a doubt the best improvement to my bike Barr none! No more creaking or clicking, just smooth and fast! I can hear the birds singing and the sound of my tyres gliding along the tarmac. These are simple sounds which we take for granted, but I’ve never been able to hear or enjoy them properly until now. There’s no getting around the high price, but I’m so glad I went ahead and bought it as it’s even better than I imagined! Just buy it and you will understand what I’m saying!

Fine engineering. Get a BB press with a lengthened threaded rod for easy installation. After two long rides to help wear in the bearings, the bike now feels much better than new.

I’ve now got 600 miles on my Hambini BB and could not be happier. The improvement over the stock Cannondale setup is subtle but definitely noticeable: stiffer, more responsive, and no more creaks! Installation was a breeze. I made my own press using Hambini’s instructions and had zero issues. My CAAD12 feels like a new bike!

Easy install, the cranks spinn super smooth and effortless. Will by another for my other bike.

This is my second BB from Hambini and it is as excellent as the first one. Quick delivery, easy to fit and works perfectly. It would score a 5 but the astronomical price drags it down to a 4.

Was lucky enough to score a 2nd hand hambini BB for my caad12. Instantly solved my bearing issues that constantly plagued me for the last 5 years. Quality piece of kit. And I’ve tried almost all of the bb30a solutions on the market. Nothing comes close.
Wish I had found this earlier and saved myself so much money.

I bought this after having no end of problems with creaking and poor bearing life on my C’dale CAAD.
The installation was a bit fiddly. I left a small length of draw tape in the bottom bracket before installing. I installed the BB half way through, nudged it over the draw tape and then pushed the brake hose around the bend with the BB semi installed.
I’ve had the BB for about 6 weeks now and the difference is like night and day. There is no creaking and the pedal feel is very stiff instead of spongy.
Even an idiot can see why this is expensive, pick one up and you’ll instantly feel the difference. In hindsight, I should have bought this first and saved myself the endless trips and expense at every local bike shop.

Ordering was easy, but the waitlist – sitting at the edge of my seat with no idea if or when the bottom bracket would be available – was nerve wracking. However, and email eventually stated that it was on the way. Once it arrived, this thing was like it was no affected by the forces of nature, the spin test was endless – kept on going. Gives confidence that almost no wattage will be lost in friction of spinning the the cranks!

Nothing obviously wrong with the BB but realized my axel would not fit. So never used the BB. Removing (uninstalling) it was a bitch. Nearly destroyed the BB shell and trashed the Hambini BB in the process. $400 down the toilet.
